All of the writing that I have done this quarter will never really be heard. In order to help others in dire straights we must come together as a collective and write one blog that could go out to the public. For instance, we could search out a forum that does not even pertain to this subject and interject our blog. What could it hurt? Who is to say that this will or will not cause a sensation and hopefully a new trend. Let's all band together. I know that this quarter is closing, but for future classes this would be an excellent way to delve into the public sphere and see what positive or negative outcomes are born. This blog should include all of the classes thoughts about the Sudanese people while containing pertinant information about Valentino Deng and his organization. This may very well be a suitable project and a way for the next class to engage the public sphere on a completely different level. With an organized action such as this proposal the public sphere can become a new way that CSUSB students and their Professor's can start a totally new genre of learning while taking action to get involved. There is bound to be many others who will share in helping the refugees. Like we discussed in class about the fact that no one has time, money, or is willing to put forth the effort it takes to help others or get a message across to the public. This idea is just that only an idea, but it could very well prove to be a great idea with a little effort. Having this idea become part of the required work for this class would more than raise the awareness of thirty or less students. Another part of the class that I was thinking about was all of the writings I did with the horrific pictures of the Lost Boys and of Sudanese refugees (no matter their gender) and how even now it feels too surreal to believe. I do know that these horrible acts of cruelty are continuous, but still it makes me ill at how human beings can treat their own with little or no regard. The public needs to be made aware, so another thought I have is to possibly have the next class all write personal letters to Valentino Deng and just maybe he could come to the University and tell his story. I mean, maybe it is a far-fetched idea, but anything is possible if you are willing to put forth the effort, especially something as monumental as being graced with an individual that has proven that people can seriously overcome any obstacle. Since this is a class that learns what the public sphere is all about and how it affects us, then my suggestions are how ideas get started in the public. I did not mean to go off on a tangent, but at least it is what appears to be a tangable tangent. Anyway, maybe I did not understand this last blog assignment, but I do believe that my words also show worth and value.
